Award-winning Japanese garden - Hampton

This traditional Japanese garden in the Bayside suburb of Melbourne could have you fooled that you were actually in Japan. This garden is one of our traditional styled Japanese gardens and has been designed to incorporate a traditional Japanese tea house.

 

This garden features a custom made Japanese tea house made by local Japanese craftsman Zen Studio. Kihara Landscapes has created a traditional Japanese garden to compliment the tea house. The home owner participates in Japanese tea ceremony and enjoys ikebana flower arrangement from her home. The garden forms an important role in these ceremonies. The Japanese garden approaching the tea house transports the participants from their “outside life” and gives them a moment of stillness, reflection, and contemplation allowing time to slow down as they approach the tea house. The Japanese garden helps in preparing the mind for the tea ceremony which in many ways is an ancient style of meditation.   

 

Kimono clad guests approach this garden through custom made Japanese sliding doors which successfully complements the Californian weatherboard bungalow. This is a very traditional Japanese garden in a very typical Australian backyard which has been executed perfectly by Moto and the team.
